Dear friends, clients and colleagues,

This summer marks two years since we made our way to Salt Lake City. Some would say it takes about a year to settle into a place, but having a baby seemed to delay that process a bit. I am happy to report that we are feeling very much at home here, and having a wonderfully adventurous summer. We are looking ahead to fall with all of our 17 months of parenting experience and ready to ace this next academic year.

Since starting my office share with acupuncturist Bea Hammond last October, I have been steadily meeting new clients who are exploring their relationships to touch, trust, and trauma. In addition to seeing clients Saturdays and Mondays (and sometimes Sundays), in the fall I will have one or two AM appointments available Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. Supervised sessions with Alan Fogel are available on Wednesdays. Please get in touch for a free phone consultation to see if Rosen Method Bodywork might be a good fit for you, or your clients.

What is Rosen Method?

Being with the unknown
Making sense of not knowing
Not knowing how to go on
Knowing you will
Meeting the longing
Deep witnessing

Almost immediately after my first contact with Rosen Method, my bodywork clients started to bring new (to me) questions and feelings to the table. Over the years, my capabilities seemed to match what clients were willing or able to explore in our sessions. And often, a client's experience has mirrored something I've been working with myself. Recently, my own process of returning to work in a new city required that I build up more supportive resources for myself. And wouldn't you know it, that coincided with several new clients. I am grateful to have work that reflects back to me how important it is to stay in the circle of care, giving and receiving. Thank you Salt Lake for welcoming me and my family.

Sincerely,
Amy

Fall 2016: New Office in Salt Lake City

Greetings good people!
I am delighted to announce that I have found a new home for my bodywork practice, which I am resuming after my maternity leave. It's been just over a year since I moved from NYC to SLC and in that time we welcomed baby Ramona Sue who is now seven months old. I have missed my time with clients and look forward to returning to my passion of helping people feel better in their bodies. I will be seeing clients on Saturdays and Mondays at the office of beloved acupuncturist Bea Hammond who is sharing her office with me on her days off. The address is 1390 S 1100 East in a peaceful neighborhood with ample parking. I hope you will visit me there.

Rosen Method Bodywork

As a Rosen Method Bodywork Intern, I will be offering sessions on a sliding scale from $50-$75. Rosen Method is a gentle, contactful way to tend to tension held in the body. This work touched me deeply in 2011 when, for what felt like the first time, I was invited to bring my whole self into the room and feel both my struggles and my strengths fully acknowledged. I still remember the deep presence of the practitioner's gentle hands between my shoulder blades. After several minutes, she asked me what I noticed in my body. Though I loved the feeling of her touch, I had no idea how to verbalize what I was experiencing in myself. I said "I don't know" and guess what? She thanked me for telling her that! The validation I received in that moment remains with me to this day. Needless to say, I was smitten with Rosen Method and began my training in 2012. I have worked with therapists, members of the clergy, artists, yoga teachers, school teachers, nurses--often other helping professionals who are ready to feel more into their bodies with supportive touch leading the way. I've also worked with people who have been in talk therapy for some time and would like to receive supportive touch as a compliment to their work there.

Massage Therapy

For those who would like a more traditional approach, I will also be offering massage therapy sessions. During the month of October, I am offering an introductory rate of $60/hour for massage, with the opportunity to lock in this special price by purchasing a series of four treatments for $240. This is a significant discount from my old NYC rates, so come on in and enjoy my ten years of experience in treating those aches and pains. Having recently been pregnant, I am very happy to provide pregnancy massage as well.

Please feel free to get in touch with any questions you may have. I look forward to meeting more people in this lovely community.

Sincerely,
Amy
